If B&B was a sport then Laura and Castlecroft would by rights be the British Olympic entry. The property is in a great location, just at the north end of... read more Stirling Castle and we walked in each day along a tarmaced footpath to see the sights. The location means that you do not need to go through the centre of the city to reach the B&B and there is plenty of parking space.
Nothing was too much trouble for Laura, and she was very interested to help us enjoy our stay. The bedroom and ensuite were beautifully clean, and lovely and warm (January). There is also a fantastic lounge with a real fire and views out across the countryside north of the city. We both enjoyed our breakfasts, there was a great choice and the cooked options were really nicely done. On our next trip to Stirling we will be sure to return to Castlecroft.

Just the best B&B in Stirling - Laura is such a gift to any traveller. The hospitality is great, lounge super comfy, snacks yummy, deck spacious. Our room was quiet, clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast, all prepared and cooked by her, was delicious, with vegetarian options.
The location of Castlecroft B&B is perfect for walking into the town, the castle and its surrounds. Make sure to have a flashlight with you if you're walking back at night though, the footpaths are unlit. Laura has so much local knowledge too about things to do and see in Stirling.

Yes, we read reviews and understood that this B&B was touted to be amazing. We also planned our trip on advice from Rick Steves copious body of work traveling... read more to Scotland. We understood the promise, but would the reality be what we expected?
I'm pleased to report the reality exceeded our expectations. Nestled under Stirling Castle, and easily within walking distance of this tourist spot, the setting was accessible and stunning. But you have seen the pictures and other reviews... you should know this.
Perhaps what the other reviews may mention is the breakfast. Yes, it was wonderful and you will need to try the full Scottish Breakfast (but if not, Laura will provide what you order as well...). Everything is great, but the stand out is the homemade bread. White or Brown? Don't fret, get each and just savor the delight. Whatever Laura is doing there, she'd doing it right. Trust me (but by all means feel free to stay a few days and verify). Thank you Laura 'Croft' - it was our pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Our room was exceptionally clean and cozy. The bed and pillows are so comfortable. We actually caught up on some sleep.

Excellent comfortable stay in a good location. Great breakfast! - Quick summary: very comfortable stay in a charming, spotlessly clean B & B. Delicious breakfasts. Good location to town and touring. Helpful, lovely hostess.
We stayed... read more in room 5 which has a very comfy bed and good pillows. This room has a private patio which overlooks the hillside and town. Good storage areas, 2 luggage racks, Floor -to-ceiling sliding glass door provides nice light and fresh air.
Coffee ea maker with a nice selection, including press coffee. TV has many channels.
Bathroom has a nice shower and good counter space to spread out with toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and shower gel are provided. High quality towels.
Spotless housekeeping throughout.
Lovely public areas with original artwork. The sunny living room has interesting books for touring, and coffee, tea, and biscuits available during the day. Outdoor terrace overlooks the town.
Breakfasts are superb: cooked-to-order eggs, meats (including haggis,) porridge, etc. Cereals, fresh fruits, juice are also available. I LOVED the fresh berries on my porridge. Press coffee, tea.
You will be asked to book a time for breakfast to help manage the kitchen flow, which is very reasonable.
Wi-Fi works well.
No AC, but things generally cool off in the evening. Still, we tend to take the duvet out of its case to use the case as a top sheet if we felt a bit warm in the evening. We do this in most places rhat have a duvet on the bed but no AC — we like a little something on top when we sleep, but don.t need something as warm as most duvets.
The hostess, Laura, is very charming and helpful with restaurant and travel suggestions.
On site parking.
The property is very convenient to town, and to roads for touring the area. While it is a short-ish walk to town, I might not do this in the evenings. Safety is not an issue, but more about your footing on the path in the dark. Parking in town can be busy, but doable (I recommend the Dalgleish lot near many restaurants and shops.)
We’d be delighted to stay again if we are in the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
